Since 1937 the Sebastian County Humane Society has been an ongoing adoption center providing shelter and food for the homeless. Your participation and membership in the Sebastian County Humane Society helps us continue to provide this care. Only through our combined efforts are we truly able to provide unwanted, homeless, and abused animals shelter and care.

With so many different ways to give, we are confident that we can help you find the approach that best meet both your financial needs and charitable goals. Please browse through the many giving opportunities below.
- Bequest in wills and Living Trusts. A bequest in your will or living trust is an uncomplicated way to help animals. A bequest can be a specific sum, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate after expenses and gifts to loved ones. Bequest can include cash, securities, real estate, houses, and personal property such as valuable collections, art, or jewelry. Living trusts can be put into effect immediately upon your death, bypassing probate and keeping the terms private.
- Charitable Gift Annuities. Charitable gift annuities are one of the oldest and most reliable charitable tools available for senior citizens. A CGA is simply a contract between you and the Sebastian County Humane Society. You transfer cash, real estate, or marketable securities (e.g., stock, bonds, mutual fund shares, etc.) of at least $5,000 to the SCHS and, in exchange, the SCHS pays you a guaranteed fixed income for life on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. By transferring these assets, you are giving a gift to the SCHS and purchasing an annuity as the same time. Payments can be deposited directly to your bank account.
- Celebrate outstanding animals and people by donating in their names. Want to send a unique greeting to a special someone? Celebrate any person, pet, friendship, or occasion with a donation of any dollar amount. We’ll send a personalized greeting card from one loved one to another, human or animal, in honor of your donation. The possibilities are endless, and your donation will help the shelter animals. Celebrate: Birthday, Anniversary, Holidays, Graduation, Wedding, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentines Day, Adoption of a new pet, Or just to say you care.

They are devoted companions who give us unconditional love and acceptance. For a pet caregiver, the loss of an animal friend can be one of life’s most difficult experiences. Making a donation to the SCHS is a personal way to honor the memory of a pet, a kindred spirit. The meaningful gesture will keep the spirit of a lost loved one alive, while helping animals. The SCHS will send a sympathy to the person or family you designate to acknowledge your thoughtful donation.
